The NDLR + iPAD (p1): Connection - Steve - 10-04-2018 I’ve been getting a lot of questions about using The NDLR with an iPad. Ever since we got MIDI over USB working I have been using an iPad for testing and several different configurations. Here’s what I’ve learned... Part 1 - Getting them Connected... The iPad adapter is super important. The one shown below is the one I use. These sell on the Internet for about $15. There are others that are simply a lightning plug on one side and USB on the other. Both are generally called a “camera connection kit”, super easy to find on the Internet. The adapter below does two functions at once. First it enables the iPad to be a USB host controller, a place to plug The NDLR into. Second, it provides a lightening port, a place to plug-in a power adapter so you don’t drain your iPad battery while providing power to The NDLR. It is basically 2 MIDI plugs (In/Out) connected by a short wire. It is powered from the MIDI interface itself and send midi data to the iPad or iPhone synths. It does however cost a bit more than the USB solution above. $45-50. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MDBT01--yamaha-md-bt01-bluetooth-wireless-midi-interface RE: The NDLR + iPAD (p1): Connection - Darryl - 01-16-2019 (01-16-2019, 09:47 AM)RonLar Wrote: I have been using the Yamaha MD-BT01 Bluetooth Wireless MIDI Interface. RE: The NDLR + iPAD (p1): Connection - synthdad - 04-13-2019 I've been using the iConnectivity MIDI1 and it works perfectly as well - can send an receive MIDI notes to/from the iPad. Great to visualise how the various options affect the motif and pad outputs. https://www.iconnectivity.com/products/midi/iconnectmidi1 |
