Feature Request - chord splitter for monosynths - MrJon - 04-06-2021

Hello,

I was reviewing the draft manual and think this may be covered under 'Channel Layers(Splits and Layers) Sub-Page', but I'm not 100% on that.  If it's not covered yet, would there be a possibility to split out chord data from an input keyboard and route the individual notes to individual outputs connected to monosynths?  MIDIpal from Mutable instruments had a pretty slick way of doing this and it helped keep my extensive collection of monosynths busy.  My MIDIpal died and I haven't replaced it yet with the MIDIgal or other spin-offs; but before I do that, I figured I'd check in here.  

For example, here is a snippet:

Dispatching method:
  • cyclic ([b]cyc[/b]). Each new note is cyclically played on the next channel.

  • polyphonic ([b]pol[/b]). The mapping of notes to channel uses a true voice stealing algorithm. The MIDIpal tries to reuse the same channel for occurrences of the same note ; or the least recently used channel.

  • random ([b]rnd[/b]). Each new note is routed to a random channel.

  • stacking ([b]stk[/b]). Each note is sent to all channels at the same time. Perfect for thickening a lead by sending it to several synths, or to several parts of the same multitimbral device.

  • velocity ([b]vel[/b]). The louder (higher velocity) the note, the higher the MIDI channel it is sent to.

Just seconding an interest in this functionality. With the Blokas Midihub it's called Dispatcher:

My use case would be to sequence polyphonically on one channel and then rotate/split that between the individual MIDI channels on my Nord Drum 2, effectively turning it into a polysynth as seen here:

What luck, we have a function like this planned! There is currently a menu location for a Poly-Chaining feature. This does the same idea as the dispatcher, although I don't know if it will include that bit about keeping track of which notes are on or not. At the moment it's not yet implemented.

Just adding one more wishing for this feature. This would be great, specially if we don't get any stuck notes!

Adding in another vote for poly-chain.  With that added, my current midi rats-nest needs would be finally solved with just this one device.

Hi Jesse!  Any luck on a timeline for this?  I didn't see it on the recent BETA firmware.  Thanks so much!

Bump Smile would be nice to leave the rk-006 as the travel hub

Poly-chain would still be a solid feature for the mrcc. Great device. Also, thanks for making the remote and the xpander.

What is the stage of this planned feature? When can we expect the implementation?
