Personally, I suspect the envelopes of the Edge. All parts of the NDLR play in Legato mode, meaning there is very little time between Note Off and Note On. I measured it a long time ago, and it is something in the order of 10s of milliseconds from Note Off to Note On. If the envelope of the Edge is not retriggerable, it may not have time to recover from one note in order to sound the next note. To test this theory, create a Rhythm with Beat 1: 127, Beat 2: Rst, Beat 3: 127, Beat 4: Rst. Then set the RHY-LEN to 4. Play a Motif with this newly created rhythm. If you now hear individually triggered notes coming out (instead of only the first note), then it would appear that the Edge doesn't like Legato.
If this is the case, you could try setting the Edge VCA Release knob all the way to zero. The hope here is that the envelope can complete its cycle with the execution of the Note Off command and be ready to trigger again with the following Note On. That, or perhaps Behringer has some hidden configuration someplace where you can set the envelope as Retriggerable or Non-retriggerable. I don't have an Edge, but I do have other Behringer gear and things are often changeable through wacky button pushes.
Hope you have success with this!
