To me the ACTIVITY screen is one of the most useless screens of MRCC because the content is just too tiny. A matter of taste, but in general it would be great if MRCC could remember the screen that was active before switching off – or allow a user definable start screen.
My personal preference would be a simple and clear LOAD PRESET screen: just turn the dial and press it to confirm. No fiddly up/down button presses in between.

The MRCC can listen for Program Change messages on the control channel so if you have it set up in such a way that you have an easy way to send those it could be possible to have hardware control of preset selection without having to deal with a menu at all. Not really suggesting this is the best solution but if the menu has you feeling down, at least there's an immediately available way to get there, that's possible.
But turning the knob a couple of times does seem a little easier...

Having a MIDI CCs to change the MRCC's screen might also be somehow helpful. Obviously not all menus, but maybe ACTIVITY (all 3 screens), MIDI MONITOR, LOAD SAVE.... Or maybe a single CC with values 0,1,2,3.....127 mapped to all the sub-pages of the MRCC.
