Transpose midi input question
#11
Hi there!

If I am reading this thread correctly then; it is not possible to transpose the root note within a scale?

Say that I am in the scale of C Minor and wish to transpose to G Minor - is it not possible to do this by sending a CC message? I send from my DAW CC 26 to change the degree of scale within C... I thought that CC 73 would then be able to change the key.

I need to read through the manual again.

No that's exactly what you can do. The CC for Key is 73, and sending a value between 1-12 will select a Key change. They progress from C following the circle of fifths (1-12; C, G, D, A, E, B, F#, Db, Ab, Eb, Bb, & F). So to transpose to G minor you would send a value of 2. You will need to make sure you are sending that CC to the NDLR Ctrl channel, however, as that is the only channel on which the NDLR is listening for these messages.

Hi Jesse.

Thank you very much for the reply.

I was just able to test that and it is working how you describe.

Best wishes!
